How quickly can you build a web app for Yale students?

It started at the kickoff on Wednesday, September 9 and closes Friday, September 11, 11:59 PM. Build something useful in Cursor, on the month of Cursor Pro SpaceXAI gave the room, and send us the GitHub link. Three winners each get three months of Cursor from SpaceXAI.

  • The brief

    A useful web app for Yale students

    Built in Cursor. Classes, clubs, dining, schedules, recruiting, research: anything you actually wish existed. Useful beats flashy.

  • The README

    Screenshot, usage instructions, demo video

    Your README must include a screenshot of you building it in Cursor, usage instructions (logins, test accounts, whatever we need to run it), and a public link to a 1 to 2 minute demo video (YouTube, Google Drive, anywhere). Solo or a team of up to three.

  • Submit

    The GitHub link, by the deadline

    One form: your name, your Yale email, the public GitHub link, and one sentence on what it does. Due Friday, September 11, 11:59 PM.

  • Prizes

    Three winners, three months of Cursor each

How it works

    If you were at the kickoff and have not yet, use the room code. Pro is what unlocks Grok Bot.

    Build

    Open Cursor, pick the one thing you wish existed at Yale, and ship a first version. Small and working beats big and half done.

    Submit

    Push it to a public GitHub repo. The README needs the Cursor screenshot, usage instructions, and the demo video link. Then send us the link.

The fine print

  • Open to Yale students. Submit with your Yale email.
  • One submission per person or team. Teams of up to three; list everyone on the form.
  • The repository must be public. Its README must include the Cursor screenshot, usage instructions (logins, test accounts, anything needed to run it), and a public link to a 1 to 2 minute demo video (YouTube, Google Drive, anywhere).
  • Judged by the YaleAI board on usefulness to Yale students, craft, and how far you got in the time.
  • Winners are contacted by email within a few days of the deadline. SpaceXAI applies the three months of Cursor to the winners' accounts.
